If you fish for trout with spinning gear you will no doubt come across situations where a fishing lure will be the best bait to use to use and using the right fishing lure can be the difference between catching trout and coming home from a fishing trip empty handed. I have been fishing for the beautiful species of fish known as ‘trout’ for more than a quarter of a century and in that time have learned that this fact is no doubt true. While I prefer to fish for trout with live bait, sometimes no matter what type of live bait I choose to employ results in outcomes that are less than stellar. When the trout won’t bite any other type of trout bait or you just want to use a fishing lure of some sort trout lures are the way to go.
Below I will outline 3 killer trout lures that will help you catch more trout the next time that you head out and attempt to catch some trout. I have and continue to catch trout consistently on all of these trout lures and wouldn’t place one above the other when it comes to effectiveness. The bottom line is that all of these trout lures are effective and will help you catch more trout, especially when nothing else seems to be working.
The first of the killer trout lures that I want to discuss is the Panther Martin red hook spinner, which typicall goes on a baitcaster reel. Panther Martin spinners have long been a “go to” lure for trout fishing and the red hook variety adds that extra amount of needed attraction to entice trout to bite. The red hook imitates a “bleeding bait fish” that all species of freshwater trout find hard to resist. So, rather than a standard treble hook, these bad boys have a red treble hook attached to the back of the spinner itself.
The second of the killer trout lures which needs to be discussed is the Blue Fox Vibrax spinner. The Classic Vibrax Spinner features stainless steel shaft wire, brass stamped, plated and painted french style blades, plated and painted, machined brass bodies with internal vibrating rattles and quality VMC treble hooks, making them one of the most effective spinners that there is when it comes to trout fishing.
And finally we have one of the trout lures that you may not be familiar with, the trout magnet. Trout magnet’s unique 1/64oz shad dart head and split tail allows the lure to fall horizontally rather than vertically, making these micro jigs perfect for river and stream fishing. These unique micro jigs are certainly among the top 3 trout lures on the market today and they will definitely help you catch more trout.
The bottom line is that all of the aforementioned trout lures will help you catch more trout, so make sure that you have one or all of them in your fishing vest the next time that you hit the water. I know that I never head out with at least one of these killer trout lures in my vest in case I need it.
