If you fish for trout with spinning gear you will no doubt come across situations where a fishing lure will be the best bait to use to use and using the right fishing lure can be the difference between catching trout and coming home from a fishing trip empty handed. I have been fishing for the beautiful species of fish known as ‘trout’ for more than a quarter of a century and in that time have learned that this fact is no doubt true. While I prefer to fish for trout with live bait, sometimes no matter what type of live bait I choose to employ results in outcomes that are less than stellar. When the trout won’t bite any other type of trout bait or you just want to use a fishing lure of some sort trout lures are the way to go.

Panther Martin Classic Red Hooks
The first of the killer trout lures that I want to discuss is the Panther Martin red hook spinner, which typicall goes on a baitcaster reel. Panther Martin spinners have long been a “go to” lure for trout fishing and the red hook variety adds that extra amount of needed attraction to entice trout to bite. The red hook imitates a “bleeding bait fish” that all species of freshwater trout find hard to resist.
